At 2 a.m. on January 21, as the old pipelines of the last section were blocked and the new pipelines were put into operation for gas transmission, the relocation of high-pressure pipelines in Suzhou Pipeline Network involved in Provincial Highway 605 Reconstruction and Expansion Project in Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province was successfully completed after four months, 20 days ahead of the schedule of the government.

The pipeline of the project starts from Fenhumen Station and goes north along Provincial Highway 605 to Beilian Village, Tongli Town, with a total length of 25.4 km. Due to the reconstruction and expansion of bridge structures and road widening related to Provincial Highway 605, about 11.5 km of gas pipelines with insufficient safe distance from roads needed to be relocated, including 8.4 km of directional crossing pipeline, 3.1 km of directly buried pipeline, 2 pressure-blocking places for stopping transmission, and 1 place for four-blocking without stopping transmission. The design pressure was 4.0Mpa, the pipe diameter was 508 mm, and the daily gas transmission volume reached 460,000 m3.
In order to strengthen project management, Suzhou Branch transferred part-time personnel from the business department and established a project command center. The branch refined and implemented the project management system, strengthened construction site supervision, coordination and quality management, ensured the progress of construction, and combined the upstream and downstream gas consumption conditions. It optimized the process, reduced the number of times that gas was transported without stopping, achieved cost reduction and efficiency improvement, and gained precious construction time for the widening and relocation of National Highway 605. It won unanimous praise from government departments and road construction parties.
