From the evening of September 3 to the 4th, heavy rains struck Datong County, Qinghai Province, and the county launched a level 4 flood control emergency plan. Taking the rainfall as a command, Datong Company responded immediately upon receiving the flood alert. It swiftly activated its own emergency plan and worked overnight to carry out pipeline inspections and emergency repairs, ensuring the safety of gas supply for 38,000 users across the county.

Due to the sustained downpour, many sections of the county experienced water accumulation and silt buildup. The customer service department of Datong Company mobilized all rescue personnel and emergency vehicles to conduct a comprehensive investigation of long-distance pipelines, township pipelines and various gas equipment and facilities. It carried out 24-hour inspections of the pipeline network after rain, quickly repaired exposed pipelines damaged by heavy rain, and promptly cleared floodwater and silt from gas stations.
As of the morning of September 5, Datong Company had dispatched over 120 personnel and 10 vehicles, completing inspections of nearly 60% of the urban and rural medium-pressure gas supply pipelines—totaling more than 200 kilometers—repairing 3 pipeline sections, and inspecting 8 high- and medium-pressure gas regulation cabinets. The company also maintained 24-hour monitoring of key heavy rainfall areas in townships and critical gas supply stations to ensure uninterrupted gas supply across the county.
