On November 6, Ms. Zheng, a customer from Xuchang Company, presented a banner inscribed with “Emergency Rescue and Genuine Care for the People” to express her heartfelt gratitude to Xuchang Company for its efficient and safe handling of a gas leak emergency in her home.


On the evening of November 2 at around 7 p.m., Xu Shanshan and Kong Mengmeng, safety inspectors from the East Operations Department of Xuchang Company, were conducting meter inspections in Xiangyun Community when they detected the smell of gas in the hallway of Building 1, Unit 1. The duo immediately started to conduct leak inspections in all 19 households of that building. After determining that the combustible gas concentration was above the safety threshold at the entrance of Room 403, they found the unit was unoccupied. They promptly reported the emergency and contacted Ms. Zheng. Xuchang Company quickly activated its gas leak emergency handling procedures, and an emergency repair team was dispatched to the scene. At the same time, they coordinated with the police, fire department, and property management to evacuate residents and secure the leak area.
Upon inspection, it was discovered that a connection joint of the gas stove in Ms. Zheng's home had become loose, which had gone unnoticed due to prolonged vacancy. After the danger was resolved, Ms. Zheng shook hands with Xu Weifeng, the pipeline inspection and emergency repair supervisor of Xuchang Company, and said, "Thanks to the diligence and responsibility of your team, the consequences could have been disastrous. I’m truly grateful!"
The swift resolution of this incident not only demonstrated the professionalism and dedication of Xuchang Company’s frontline staff but also tested the emergency response capabilities of its repair team. Moving forward, Xuchang Company will continue to strengthen safety awareness campaigns, enhance safety management, and provide customers with a more secure gas usage environment.
